Uploads position data as events in batches. Events are created with type = "Position" and status = "New". The server's ProcessGPS job later extracts coordinates from the payload and creates position event records.

Usage

telem_create_positions(
  data,
  batch_size = 1000L,
  dry_run = FALSE,
  verbosity = 0
)

Arguments

data

A tibble with columns: device_id, date, source, payload (see telem_add_payload()). type defaults to "Position" and status to "New" when absent; project_id is filled in automatically from the session. Any other columns – such as the source columns telem_add_payload() deliberately keeps – are dropped before sending, rather than warned about. deployment_id is the exception: it is sent, and warned about, because the API accepts the write and then discards it (see telem_create_events()).

batch_size

Integer. Number of events to send per API request. Default 1000.

dry_run

Logical. If TRUE, prints the first batch request without sending it.

verbosity

Integer. How much information to print (0 = silent, 1 = headers, 2 = headers + body, 3 = full).

Value

A tibble summarizing the ingestion results per batch.
