Record procedures carried out on animals

Usage

telem_create_procedures(data, dry_run = FALSE, verbosity = 0)

Arguments

data

A tibble with columns: individual_id, procedure. Optional columns: capture_id, diagnosis_id, date_of_procedure, metadata.

dry_run

Logical. If TRUE, prints the request without sending it.

verbosity

Integer. How much information to print (0 = silent, 1 = headers, 2 = headers + body, 3 = full).

Value

A tibble of created procedures with their assigned IDs.

Details

A procedure is something done to the animal — an immobilisation, a treatment, a removal. Where it followed a finding, diagnosis_id links the two, which is what turns a list of events into a record of what happened and why.

Note that chemical immobilisation is a procedure rather than a capture method: the method says how the animal was caught, the procedure says what was done once it was.
