Record samples taken from animals

Usage

telem_create_samples(data, dry_run = FALSE, verbosity = 0)

Arguments

data

A tibble with columns: individual_id, state (see telem_sample_states()), type. Optional columns: capture_id, procedure_id, substance, volume, result, drawn_at, processed_at.

dry_run

Logical. If TRUE, prints the request without sending it.

verbosity

Integer. How much information to print (0 = silent, 1 = headers, 2 = headers + body, 3 = full).

Value

A tibble of created samples with their assigned IDs.

Details

state says where the sample is — drawn, in the lab, processed — and result is what the lab said. A sample with a result and a state of "Drawn" is a contradiction worth avoiding.

type and substance are free text: type is the kind of sample, substance what it is made of. Keep a project's wording consistent, because nothing enforces it.

Examples

if (FALSE) { # \dontrun{
telem_create_samples(tibble::tibble(
  individual_id = 481,
  state = "Processed",
  type = "Nasal swab",
  substance = "Mucosa",
  result = "M. ovi negative",
  drawn_at = "2023-03-14T00:00:00Z"
))
} # }
